Founder terms.

The agreement between you — the person who makes a store — and SEWN. Your buyers get a separate, shorter document at checkout: the Terms of Sale. This one is yours. It is written to be read, and everything in it is what the product actually does today.

1. What SEWN does, and what you do

You upload a mark and a few details. We generate product photography of that mark on real garments, build you a store on your own address, and put it online. When somebody buys, we embroider the piece to order, ship it, and answer their email.

You hold no stock, take no payment and touch no logistics. That is the whole point of the arrangement, and it has a consequence worth being clear about: on every sale through your store SEWN is the seller. The contract for that cap is between SEWN and the buyer, on the Terms of Sale. You are not a party to it, which is also why a chargeback, a refund or a lost parcel is our problem and not yours.

2. Your account

You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. There is no password to lose. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you and administer your stores, so treat it accordingly — tell us at hello@yoursewn.store if the address is compromised and we will cut every live session on it.

One address can hold several stores. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and the details you give us must be true.

3. Your mark — the part that matters

You promise you have the right to use the mark you upload and to let us reproduce it on merchandise, in product photography and on the store we build for you. That is a real promise, not a formality: if you upload somebody else's logo, you have asked us to manufacture counterfeit goods under our name and our embroiderer's.

We screen uploads against a list of around 150 well-known marks before a build starts, and refuse the obvious ones. That screen is a filter, not a trademark clearance — it does not search any register, it will not know your competitor's brand, and passing it is not us telling you that you are in the clear.

If a rights holder contacts us about a store, we will take that store offline while we work it out, and we will tell you. The route in is on the trust page. You cover us for claims that come from a mark you told us you owned.

4. What we do with the mark

Your logo file is sent to OpenAI's image API to generate the four product photographs, and to nothing else. It is not used to train a model, it is not sold, and it is not shown to another founder. Details are on the trust page and in the privacy notice.

5. Price, margin, and how you get paid

Every piece has a floor — what the garment, the embroidery, the shipping and the card processing genuinely cost. You may set your retail price at or above that floor, from your dashboard, and the difference is your margin. The margin on an order is recorded at the moment of sale, so a price you raise on Tuesday does not change what you earned on Monday.

๐Ÿ”ด Read this one twice

Your margin accrues as SEWN account credit, not as cash. It is spendable on your own SEWN merchandise. We cannot pay it to a bank account today — that needs Stripe Connect and we have not built it. If and when we do, we will tell you before anything changes, and no balance you have earned expires in the meantime.

If that is not the arrangement you want, do not set a margin: leave the price at the floor and the store simply costs you nothing to run.

Sales tax is calculated by Stripe Tax on the address the order ships to and added at checkout, where we are registered to collect. It is the state's money, never yours and never ours, and it is excluded from your margin.

6. Plans and billing

The free plan is free, with no card and no trial clock. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe at the prices published on the pricing page, which is the one place those numbers live.

7. What we do not promise

SEWN is new. There is no uptime guarantee, no service credit and no support SLA, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. We answer email within one business day and usually much faster; the production times on the pricing page are the embroiderer's real ones, not a contractual commitment. We hold no security certification — not SOC 2, not ISO 27001 — and we say so plainly on the trust page.

We may change the product. Where a change affects an order already in production or money already taken, you get told before it happens.

8. Fair use, and when we would take a store down

We would suspend or close a store for: a mark you do not own, goods that are illegal to make or post, hate or harassment merchandise, someone else's identity, an attempt to use the build engine as free image generation, or payment fraud. We would rather email you than surprise you, and we will, unless the law or an obvious fraud says otherwise.

There is a cap on how many stores can be built in a day, per person and across the whole system. It exists so a founder's build is never sitting behind an abuser's.

9. Closing a store, and deleting your account

Both are buttons in your own dashboard. Neither needs to be asked for.

10. Liability

If a piece is wrong, we remake it or refund it. Beyond that: neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost customers, lost goodwill — and our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms is capped at what you have paid SEWN in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here removes a right you have under law that cannot be waived, and nothing here caps liability for fraud.

11. The dull but necessary bit

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts there are where a dispute would be heard. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. You may not transfer this agreement without asking us; we may transfer it if the business is sold, and would tell you.

We may update these terms. The version that applies to you is the one published when you signed up, or the one you keep using the product after being told about — material changes are emailed to the address on your account, not quietly edited in.

12. Talking to a person

hello@yoursewn.store. A human answers, usually the same day. For anything about data specifically, the privacy notice and the trust page get there faster.
